Watching the EV space I came across two new EVs which are from small innovative inventors.
"Electric Brands xBus" a VW bully look a like that is built on the European light electric vehicle specs and also features solar on the roof as an option. The back modules can be changed from bus to truckbed.
"Vanderhall Brawley" an offroader made in USA that will make any Jeep or Bronco eat its dust. Vanderhall is already producing EVs (The Edison - an open 3 wheeler). I am confident the Brawley will be seen cruising the sands of Utah soon.
Also the Brawley has an interesting powertrain where the disc brakes sit on either side of the motor braking the axles, taking away the weight from the wheel reducing unsprung mass ... except for its giant wheels. "Motor, inverter, gear train, brakes, and cooling system are housed in a single unit"
It's illegal in most if not every US state. Also, competing with an ATV, many ATV owners buy them for the open air exposure. I think the Brawley will be a failure but if they're built to order then it could work, they'll make hundreds of dollars.
That does NOT mean they are not street legal. It depends on the state / county:
It's funny you mention the Brawley. I don't see how that can have hardly any sales at all. The Bronco, Wrangler, Hummer, etc are all street legal cars that are also good for offroading. For the Brawley the company is trying to bypass regulations to make something that's only registered to be used for offroading. Then it costs $35k+. That's a serious waste of money for something that's not even street legal. It's as niche as you can get, and not really competition to anything but ATVs and the like.
