Honestly, it was my inner engineer that made me reserve this car, it just makes that part of me all tingly. At first I didn't envision any particular use niche for me, other than general transport. But thinking about it more, I realize this is a classic grand touring car redone for the 21st century, which is what I hope to use it for. My only concern is fit ( I am 6'4 and all torso) and seat comfort over long distances. If those work for me I think this car will be the best grand touring car I've ever owned, including the jag I had for a few years.

Yeah, if I was not a weird mutant that is somebody 5'4 below the waist sewed onto somebody 6'8 from the waist up I wouldn't worry. As it is I will just have to wait and see. Hope springs eternal.
Above it says Chris is 6'2. In the video noted above, Chris says the seats will be 50mm lower, which is 1.9685", so 6'4 will fit the way 6'2 does in that prototype.
Since that would mean you had one before me, jealousy might invoke rash behavior on my part 😉
While if push came to shove, I'd travel to San Diego to see it, hopefully before mine is built ( I'm at about 5000 on the reservation list) they will take it on tour. I'm in the Seattle area, but would happily travel anywhere in the northwest to see it, or even northern california.
Having flown fighter jets in the Canadian Airforce, I love anything to do with aerodynamics... therefore love the Altera! I'm going to feel right at home in this car!
I've always been somewhat limited in the cars I can own due to weird body shape of extremely long torso and extremely short legs (6'4 with a 30 inch inseam), but if the seat/ steering wheel are adjustable than hopefully I can make it work. Sports cars often work fine for me due to low seats and the steering wheel somewhere off on the distant horizon, what I think of as the italian driving position. I'll be heartbroken if I can't fit in this car. Plus I have the extra problem of a lower limb prosthetic as a result of a motorcycle accident.
Chris emits, when Nikki questioned the seat... that they are working on those seats
I have driven cross country a few times in my Ridgeline RTL-e and my seat was fine for my normal “ backside“ BUT ...
I had to add a gel seat under my wife’s skinny backside. I drove 500-700 miles a day
I hope they find a good compromise with weight, quality and comfort!
Yeah, Watching that video, I was thinking that both Chris and Nikki are rather a bit above average in height. Happily I am not. I do want (demand?) a comfortable seat though...
Fingers crossed!
During recent interview by Nikki from Transport Evolved Chris mention the next dev vehicle will include more headroom
I believe Chris is 6’2” himself!
Happy dance!
