Here Comes the Sol: Introducing Aptera's Second Solar Electric Vehicle

The sun is the most important and largest source of energy for life on Earth. It holds the solar system together, profoundly affects our moods, and provides life-giving light, heat, and energy to Earth. While dreamed about for over half a century, we humans have not yet been able to harness the energy of the sun to transform transportation… Until now.

Introducing Sol, the second completed Alpha in our growing fleet of Never Charge Solar Electric Vehicles (sEVs). Named after the Spanish word for Sun, Sol’s inspiration comes from science and nature. Just as plants convert the sun’s energy during photosynthesis, Sol is designed to harvest sunlight efficiently and effectively -- requiring no charging for most daily use.

Sol offers a lightweight structure, record-low drag aerodynamics, and a 1000-mile range. Live a life completely off the grid, driven by the sun, all while creating a better future for people and the planet. How will you power your lifestyle?

Keep working hard to get this to market - and to me since I have reserved two. In addition, I expect that Aptera will displace the Tesla Model 3 as the safest car on the planet with an IIHS rating of 5 for all aspects (too bad there isn't a 6).

I lost a lot of money investing in the Elio vehicle. Aptera will have to be in production and generally available. before I invest/buy. I wish them success. This looks like a vehicle that will help with reducing CO2 emissions.

Folks are not going to see legs hanging out the back in this video as a good thing. It makes the back look too short for comfortable camping. In a vehicle seen as best in a sunny environment, it's likely hot outside, and even hotter inside. Having the back open to let heat escape in the evening let's in bugs. This is the wrong impression to give in a promo video. Better would be a video segment that showed them fully inside, comfortable. Show them adjusting the a/c control that will keep them cool all night, using their devices while they are plugged in to power ports to charge, or playing cards while they charge. Happy and protected from the elements.
