Geely and Foxconn form partnership to build cars for other automakers | Reuters
For god's sake, then we should rather ask Huawei, they still have capacities free 😀
Foxconn's record on follow thru of their promises is not good. https://www.theverge.com/21507966/foxconn-empty-factories-wisconsin-jobs-loophole-trump
My Tesla X was built in CA to my satisfaction and with frequent OTA improvements. So yes.
Far better to build the car close to where it will be sold, and built it yourself with a very close eye on quality and constant improvement
I believe most are aware.
I like to minimize my Eastern exposure. Chinese? I'll want a refund.
Do you have an iPhone, iPad, iWatch, AirPods etc. ? Foxconn produces for Hewlett-Packard, Dell, Apple, Nintendo, Microsoft and Sony. 😀
No sale. As an example of foreign contract manufacturing. It could also be an assembly in Europe e.g. with Scheaffler Germany.
I believe Aptera was purchase by a Chinese company once already and was cancelled until it was purchased back by the original founders.
Let's try to keep it domestic.
