I am a car enthusiast. I have two uncles that raced and a grandfather who pitted for Parnelli Jones at Riverside back in the late 50’s. My point is I love fast well engineered cars. I currently drive an Audi S6 that has been modified. It will do 0-60 in 3.8 seconds on a good day. I want my new Aptera to be faster. I will moan, groan, tweak, modify and spend until I get the 0-60 time under 3 seconds. Why you say. For the thrill and adventure for one. Second to properly represent Aptera I have to be excited and convinced that this is the best thing since sliced bread. I want my family and friends to be impressed so that they will buy and invest. I ordered the 600 mile range because I travel. My round trips to my different businesses in Northern California are often 400 miles or greater. I drive fast. My experience with Tesla’s, great cars by the way, show me that my driving style yields about 75-80% of the stated range. I have built several electric bikes, using lithium phosphate batteries. My experience has been to charge them mostly to 80% and run them down to 10-20% left. This seems to yield the best longevity. Given my circumstances the 600 mile range seems to fit best. 1000 mile range for me would mean I would be carrying extra weight that I would rarely utilize. I will opt for the safety pilot option. I hate to admit it but at 61 my reflexes are not what they used to be. White will be my color. I live in an area that often sees 100 degree plus days in the summer time. I want to give the passive cooling system all the advantages I can. I will of course be utilizing the full solar package. Helps me pay for my reckless energy consuming ways. What have you ordered and why? I love this car and am growing to respect this company and its engineering prowess. GO APTERA!!!

Black absorbs both visible light and infrared. I would like to see the temperature differences in direct sunlight. I theorize that the whole envelope of the black body would have a higher temperature thus reducing the cooling capacity. We can compare notes after our delivery.
