With Summer just around the corner and the second alpha prototype yet to be completed, how is everyone feeling about the first orders being filled this year? I'm thinking that my order, placed after the "limited editions" sold out, will be filled in 2023-early 2024. Am I the only pessimist out here? (This is not a criticism of Aptera at all. It's just with COVID and the vagaries/challenges of doing something of this magnitude...)

So sol, either I am not wise, or they are just dreamers, say Confucius.....
Nothing is impossible for the person who does not have to actually do it.
Sorry but, you don't need much "engineering expertise" to create a three wheel
Motorcycle. Especially an electric one.
No emissions testing, no crash testing, just a headlight, taillight, turn signals and mirrors.
They can "honeycomb" all they want for strength, and wind tunnel test for drag.
But, getting the process of building one car after another in a timely and efficent
manner is the biggest hurdle. That is what killed Elio. That, but mostly $$$!
It's all just a dream.
I dreamed of my Elio for 5 years.
I bought stock and put my money down, Hoping!
Luckily, in my Elio dream my stock made me money.
I'm one of the few that came out ahead on that "Dream"!
So much so, that if the Aptera Dream turns into a black hole
nightmare, I won't miss my $100 deposit at all.
But, I hope, maybe someday to wake to an Aptera in my driveway.
And if I wake and Aptera is gone, well, it was a nice dream any way.

From what I have read, the production plan doesn't include a production line.
As for funding my $1k, as with many others is still waiting to be accepted.
I'm in it for the long-haul: I'll be happy with 2024. Well, not "happy," but "content".
When I heard Elon announce it was 200 times harder to achieve production than build/test a prototype I knew the first date of late 2021 was impossible. Now, I think it will be sometime 2023.
Before Aptera can get any vehicle into Production, they must raise $10M+ to buy the equipment necessary to have an assembly line required to produce cars.
For perspective this will take the equivalent of the first 10,000 preorders to each buy $1,000 of Aptera stock during the next round of funding. It remains to be seen if Aptera can raise the needed capital establish the necessary assembly line. How many deep pocket investors exist that would be willing to buy Aptera stock, who have NOT pre-ordered an Aptera for themselves?
I'm Order# 10026 & was hoping to get my Aptera for Christmas 2021. I have not yet given up hope, but now expect to take delivery in early 2022 as best case.
I really hope they test take the time to test the prototypes properly and refine the design and manufacturing processes. Bad publicity from a faulty or poor quality product is more likely to kill the company than production delays.
If they don't deliver all orders in so far by the end of 2023 the company may not be around.
Nathan Armstrong, in a EV club Zoom meeting the other day said the Limited Editions should start in early 2022, in limited quantities each month. BUT first I heard that???? I would be surprised if they don't try to start on those Limited edition (Paradigm Mdl) end of 2021. I too have a low number but have to wait until the Paradigm models are made, so 2022 is my hope
