Is there any specific month when Aptera will begin production? I would also like to say that when this launches, surprisingly this will be my first vehicle! I am a college student majoring in Aerospace Engineering, and i am excited for this to become more commercialized. So again, is there an estimated date or month that production will begin?
Thank you in advance, and I am excited for my preorder to get manufactured and brought to life :)
I've heard them mention that production intent "delta" protoype vehicles would be available around late summer if all goes well. Those would be available for shows, reviewers, crash testing and test drives for the lucky few.
First customer availability is near the end of this year, according to plan.
If you haven't put your reservation in yet, there are now about 10,000 ahead of you. They expect to be able to make & ship 4000 to 6000 in 2022. Then make 10,000 per year 2023 onwards. So don't expect new reservations to get out the door until 2023.

EDIT: I can't find where I thought I read it, & Daniel Watkins now posted an article to the contrary, so it's not looking very good at this point. My second point might be more accurate, but won't matter if ONE mandatory piece is unavailable, like a chip:
Original post: I read somewhere recently that chip production is ramping up fast, so that shouldn't be an issue by the time Aptera needs more.
I believe the extremely simple, low-tooling production method allows for a much more rapid ramp-up than conventional production.
I expect December, if suppliers can supply parts. I know they are experiencing some of the issues with chips and other 3rd patty suppliers that the big guys are. If this continues for a long time it could begin to affect production dates, but we aren't there yet.
No there is not. Goal is production beginning to occur this year. MASS production i would say will be a very slow ramp up
