So I am a new reservation holder and so excited! so I hear there are 2 prototypes. so a couple questions-is there a assembly line or a start of one yet?
we are very close to the mid year of 2021 and hopefully we will be getting some new news on timelines of some deliveries soon? I know there is some serious testing going on with such a new car. Can’t wait to hear more with that also. I quess maybe I am asking is how long would/could it take to build 10 thousand of these cars?
I have driven electric and sadly had to turn it back in. I also have a reservation for the cybertruck but the solar panels on this car and the 1000 mile range is what it is all about! The only other bummer it only seats two. But it would be my daily commuter and then I would be the only occupant. So super excited and just wondering what maybe a new timeline for deliveries could be? Thanks Mark
Thanks Len! That helps and I appreciate it! Can’t wait to see this one play out!
All of these comments have many pieces of accuracy (especially Blake) all I have to add is this. Just opinion, not based on fact, but I have a gut feeling Aptera is destined to be the Tesla of this decade. Of course they have challenges, not the least of which is time. If they don't succeed, it will be because of the government, not Aptera, just like the first attempt. Between their minimal parts to construct, aerodynamics and solar-to-power-the-vehicle (not the windows), I feel very good about their chances to succeed!
Blake K I unfortunately have to agree with you - there is currently an explosion of EV manufacturers and even some of the traditional car makers also jumping on the band wagon. I am not even going to mention the Chinese manufacturers ...
Time is running out and the rest of the time available will evaporate exponentially faster as the markets and suppliers ramp up as restrictions and blockages due to the pandemic eases off.
let's put it another way.
All parts are pre-built via partners,
4 interlocking shell parts,
limited electronics,
It's literally grab and fasten whole identifiable objects (chairs, cameras, shell, lights, motors, ... just grab fasten go go go.
This "car" is a cap ex-lite car.... aka max build rate, max affordability, near minimal part count, Cheap DIY repair/supply,
I just hope they don't forget they are on the clock if Tesla or Lucid or Rivian create a 25K car with over 400 mile charge tides will move out of Aptera.
That clock could run out before 2024 (Elon does not allow sleeping/complacency on the job)
Production of this "car" is slated to begin prior to 2021 years end. (general vib is it won't be hit. I hope it will be hit.)
Personally, I want an 800 Mile charge,
Congratulations! The assembly line location has been obtained in San Diego, and Munro Associates has made the first pass analysis of what is required. They project 23 people will be required to produce cars at the rate of 10,000 per year. They expect to reach that rate by the end of 2022. Initially, it looks like parts supply such as IC chips may be an issue, but with luck we will be seeing that rapidly improve as time goes on.
Best case seems the limited edition Paradigm will start end of 2021. There should 300 +of this alone. Hopefully once full production starts it seems ten thousand a year is the starting target
But lots going on!
This was my indicator I was keeping
I hope that helps
