Since the wheel motors are a source of heat it is likely that snow won't build up under the wheel pants. The traction control can sense and adjust torque every 2.5 inches of tread travel or 32 times per wheel revolution. This is much better than any other cars on the road. Snow tires are probably a very good idea. We will know more next winter.
