Finally we are all allowed to invest into #APTERA.
BUT the experience is not without hiccups.
Completed all the pages with the information required and selected all the options applicable to me.
Finally submitted my credit cards details and signed the agreement by typing my full names and press submit - NOTHING.
After work at home tried the same thing - luckily it seemed that the server kept all the information previously submitted - signed again and press submit - NOTHING.
Today at work tried again - guess what? The start page showed that I have invested twice.
This is not a train smash as I can afford to invest $2000 - the problem is that there is no immediate feedback or response or message from the web server indicating that the transaction is complete , successful or have failed. I trust whoever is responsible for their website will fix this immediately.
Although these transactions happen on a secure server (Lock displayed on the top of the page and the web address starting with HTTPS) my credit card details AND the secret CVV code is still displayed on the pages I have previously completed meaning that all the pages are cached on their server and not on my computer because at home and at work are two completely different computers.
The normal details pages being cached is fine but the credit card / payment page should be cleared once submitted. I trust whoever is responsible for their website will fix this immediately.
This situation is so annoying...
5 days later i'm not a sharholder and i haven't received news about my investment.
I should inform you that my girlfriend and 2 friends of mine have received their shareholder certificates. I haven't received it yet.
Just want everyone to know, that I received yesterday email from Chris Anthony, titled
"Offering Escrow Successful". Boy, was I happy to read that... Now my investment have gone through and being now official. Received also "Ceremonial Certificate" as a proof of amount of Aptera stocks I am now holding.
Yes, there were couple of speed bumps along the way, but now I am a one happy camper 😀! Just would love to see European version of Aptera, so I could buy one!
I was one of the investors that was in limbo. I emailed Sarah who responded very quickly and shortly after that received a notice from Tom stating my issue would be resolved in a couple of days. Just checked the funds from my bank and all is now good. To me its pretty clear that Aptera does cherish all of us and I'm again very positive on Aptera. Go Aptera and thanks again Sarah.
Has anybody received an email? I'm sin the same situation and nothing has changed. I haven't received my certificate that i'm a shareholder. @Sarah Hardwick
I would just like to add a little information here that might add a little help to those also experiencing their investments floating around somewhere in limbo. I was completely surprised that after days of hearing nothing from Aptera regarding my issues I received an email from Chris after minutes of leaving my first comment in this discussion room. It may have been 100% coincidence, but if you have any frustrations you'd like to get out of your system, then coming to this forum and venting a little might bring you some positive results. Chris basically told me the same thing I was told in my initial email correspondence from Aptera. My share payments were blocked by my financial institution, so I needed to contact them to find out how to rectify the problem. I called my bank for a second time and was once again told that it had approved both transaction dates but Aptera rejected all my transactions, so this is once again a dead purchase attempt. The reason for two transaction dates is because after the first email I went back to the Aptera portal and tried to pay again. The second rejection was news to me, so had it not been for calling my bank I would not have known I was once again sent back to square one despite it already being a week later. I wish Aptera would have a much quicker turn around period in updating investors and customers of the latest developments as that would significantly cut down on the level of frustration. I asked the bank to specifically tell me what had gone wrong so I would know exactly what to tell Chris in my next message. The agent said they have no way of knowing why I was getting rejected but it does appear that it has to do with the third party being unable to verify my personal information before being authorized to accept the transaction. As I stated before, I am an American citizen so no verification was needed in my case. An 'upload verification' option was not even an option prior to my purchase. But other than the initial filtration operation, in the end the system cannot at least consistently distinguish between American investors and overseas ones. Going from what foreign investors have posted regarding their experiences here, it is safe to say that even if I had been allowed to verify my identity, I would have still had my investment attempts fall through. Just a little something extra for American investors to consider if they also have their investments in limbo.
Always remember - regardless if you invest in Aptera or deposit money into a forex account or whatever there is a requirement from most financial institutions that the money source(you) must provide proper ID and proof of residence to counter money laundering terrorism etc.
I am fine with that.
So do what is required and have some patience - eventually everything will be sorted and everybody happy 😁
I understand and I believe so does many others.
Sarah keep up the good work and do not let negative comments distract you.
You go girl!
Hi all, I truly do understand the magnitude of the issues we are facing and I have been doing everything I can on my end to resolve them. To give you some clarity into the situation, we are required to use a third party platform/ company to accept investors’ funds and work with the SEC to ensure compliance. This is not directly managed in any way by Aptera. So when you email invest@aptera.us, it does not go to me or anyone on my team, it goes to an outsourced support team who specializes in financial inquiries related to the investing process. I have been working with this company all week and sharing your forum posts and threads to show them the damage this is causing to our investors’ trust and our brand overall. Yesterday, Chris sent a letter to their CEO directly to insist that they add more people immediately to help address these questions and issues you are facing. They have promised us that by the end of the week, they will have reached out and replied to everyone waiting for a response. For now, please copy me personally (sarah@aptera.us) on anything you send and I will make sure you get a reply and your questions resolved. Also to put your mind at ease, we will absolutely not be canceling anyone’s investments. We are aware the issues are on their end, not yours. We will continue to push to add more support and get back to everyone ASAP (hopefully by tomorrow). We are so disappointed about the way this experience has been for our supporters. Please know we are committed to taking care of our investors and doing everything we can to turn this around. Thank you again for your understanding.
What I did not like is them sending me an eMail threatening to cancel my investment. Despite me having correctly uploaded my documents at the time of the investment.
An investor friendly communication would be something like "Dear Investor, unfortunately we could not read / verify document xyz. We kindly ask you to upload it again / another one."
Personally I think they were overwhelmed by the response and not enough people to respond to queries etc.
I had logged a call more than a week ago and only got response today.
I trust they will realise that with electronic communication the responses are immediate and if they only have one person answering mails or attending to tickets it will not be suffice and creates a wrong impression of no response.
BUT I trust they are currently doing what they can with the resources they have.
Given the history of aptera - which failed before - founders should pay more attention to the investors who fund them. There should not be a single glitch.
What a mess. I invested 5 figure sum on June 14th and sent at the same time proof of my identity and address as requested by Aptera (I am a foreigner). Documents seemed to upload ok, and I even received email that they are checking them. 3 weeks passed and I received email saying, that I must upload documents immediately, or my investment will be cancelled. Uploaded documents again, uploaded ok with confirmation email from Aptera. This was last Friday. Since that, I have send 4 emails to both invest@ and info@, but no response. Starting to be really pissed off. I really, really like to be part of Aptera journey as an investor, but unfortunately they are handling these things like amateurs. Feel so sorry that I had to say that.
Email from them said that there is chat button in investor page, so I could chat with them. Can not find it anywhere. Anyone?
I received my certificate of investment for this round so am good. However the investment website still shows "Funds Processing" days after receipt of the certificate email. Curious if that's consistent with others who have received their certificates.
Another question is for those that invested during a previous opportunity via Wefunder. Did you receive investment certificates for those investments as well? The last notification I received regarding my investment was from Wefunder stating that the money was successfully transferred to escrow..
Not worried about any of this as I do have documentation for both investments but was just curious if my investment experiences are consistent with others. Thanks!
One small irritation - It seems that each time you make an investment you need to upload ID and proof of residence.
I got an e-mail stating I must upload documents else they cannot accept my investment. I have done that but why this e-mail. So I checked again.
Only one of my 3 investments show "Funds Received" and the other two shows "Processing" So I uploaded the same documents to the other 2 investments. I trust everything will be OK now.
Also checked my credit card - transaction to pay Aptera exist 🙂
So everything is done and dusted.
I am sure it is cached on their server because when I did it today on my phone (3rd device) the credit card details were already populated.
I had a similar experience. I also was directed back to portal.aptera.us and saw that I had double investment amount in the system. but, my initial attempt did not go through even though I had received one confirmation webpage. I went through it again yesterday 6/16/2021 and the proper investment amount went through.
I also noted that the system still had my information, including personal credit card info with CVV prepopulated. This may be saved on my computer as a cookie but should not. I hope they fix this!
UPDATE
Got an e-mail from Marissa at invest support.
Went through the whole process again and now there is feedback almost on every step - you can see the site is processing whatever you submit and in the end after payment is made you get feedback of your payment.
Once you get to the page requesting that you should upload proof of residence and ID you are a new investor 😁
Nobody responds to my emails about charges, and there is no phone number to contact. I'm about to call the bank and claim the charge fraudulent. I made a mistake, but they did not fix it after initially promising to void the charge.
Yesterday invested from Australia with complexities of foreign exchange rates, SWIFT codes, bank charges, and US banking and investment jargon. Today an email Chris Anthony advising that my investment has been received. I look forward to the delivery of my Aptera with the same competence.
Send this to invest@aptera.us as this may not be read here IMHO
