I attempted to visit the portal today http://portal.aptera.us But no joy. Why?

The investment portal is working for me, maybe try again. Note. it uses https (for security) rather than http i.e. https://portal.aptera.us/

Len, Thanks. That URL is the one for the Aptera general website and it works fine. The one I'm referring to is the one associated with the stock investment I recently made.
