What will keep this from following in the same path as 2011 or Eliomotors? How will the price point be kept in check? Arcimoto was to come in at around $11k. Now they are at almost $18k starting. T-rex up to $70k. Ok that is a bad comparison.

I'll say this, despite a superficial similarity between the cars, I've paid for my place in line for the Aptera, I wouldn't have an Elio if you gave it to me.
Nah, Aptera is much more visionary and has much more backing. Also, it is not afraid to say it has learnt from previous mistakes. Furthermore, Aptera is 10X more transparent and customer-driven than Elio Motors. Elio was set to put a dent in fuel economy. Aptera is set to transform it. This goes beyond that of apples and oranges.
Thanks. The day they say "click here to buy your $26k self charging 400 mile autocycle" is the day I believe any of this. I'll even settle for a Google maps tracking of their 300 mile no charge highway trip.
Post vanished? I'll try it again. I think we'll just have to wait and see. Unlike Elio, Aptera isn't projected to be incredibly inexpensive. If the engineering is solid and the money doesn't run out, maybe they'll pull it off this time. Looks like last time the founders lost control of things in the process of trying to raise enough money.
