Hi, I have a quick question about the durability and stability with the extreme weather. I am concern about snow, rain, and extreme heat. How would Aptera tackle slippery road, salt damage, extreme heat (above 100 F.), extreme snow ( below 0 to -40 F)? Would the battery be reliable and have enough power to Heat up or cool down the passenger cabinet? Also, would salt damage Aptera when the city is pouring salt on the ice street? Would it cause rust or something else? Would Aptera be stable enough to drive in a snow/raining slippery road? Will it not tip over due to having a 3 wheel vehicle?

Even a recent video run with Aptera’s Noir doing a type of Moose Run for stablity. Not bad for vehicle not yet tuned, no sway bar yet etc....
Aptera is designed to perform well in ambient conditions from -20 F to 125 F. - 40 could be beyond the capacity of the vehicle to keep the battery pack operational without additional measures. The Elaphe wheel motors have been extensively tested in salt water spray. There will be additional tests of an Aptera in winter conditions at the Elaphe cold weather test track, and video will be posted at that time. Aptera has already been tested in 110 mph side winds. The traction control is second to none, with the wheel sensing traction conditions and adjusting torque 32 times per wheel revolution, or about 2.5 inches of travel at the tread. If you expect to encounter poor traction conditions often, the 3 wheel motor version is recommended for the increased control it provides. The acceleration potential could also provide more fun :). Personally, I will choose the 2 motor version for greater economy, and will drive with greater care during the few times I encounter slick conditions. I have lots of practice with this on two wheels.
The vehicle body will be inherently resistant to rust. ([Edit. for clarity.] The main body of the Aptera is a molded and assembled composite, it is non metal and will not rust. Some frame members and other items may be of a susceptible material, but their size and weight should not make it a problem. A standard car body is where you typically end up with rust problems. With an Aptera rust will surely be at the bottom of the list of items to worry about.)
