I was reviewing some of the official Aptera videos and in of them, they mention carrying a stroller (intimating that you could take a small child in the car). Not sure if that was an error or not - at 31 seconds in this:
@#20116 I believe a stroller in that video is just an example of something that will easily fit in the trunk / cargo area. I doubt that marketing video thought through the real world implications of having a LATCH system, issue of seatbelt-mounted airbags being used to hold a child seat in place, etc. I have not yet seen these items be directly addressed. Perhaps they have just not mentioned that their seats will incorporate a LATCH system, since it is very standard nowadays in essentially all regular US cars. NHTSA states that "Nearly every car seat and most vehicles manufactured since September 1, 2002, are required to have the LATCH system." However, the Aptera may get around that requirement since it is an autocycle. So, TBD on whether or not they are including it as a design element until they let us know.
