Active "smart" suspension may be able to eliminate the weight of shocks, and even replace the function of springs & an anti-roll bar, but it would still require the weight of the mechanism that lifts/lowers the wheel.
The higher unsprung weight of the hub motors would no longer make any handling/ride difference.
If I understand the comments made in the video correctly you can either add this to the existing shock absorbers of your vehicle or you do not need shock absorbers at all! Thus if this is true then #APTERA can shave off another few pounds (kilograms) of the total weight of the #APTERA :) and have a really smart and stable ride that is way into the future of anything else on the market! What I also like is that both the #Alepha in wheel motors and this # SmartMotion can be installed on existing vehicles on the market. No need to redesign or apply major modifications to the #Aptera or your own vehicle for that matter.
