camera at wheel hub definitely wont work b/c the up down movement of wheel over bumps in roads, software to prevent shaky image cant do much about the problem
I had the same thought. If they really want to decrease drag, then even the stalks should go. In the fenders or flush under the window would be the natural alternatives. The angle and vibration make sense as concerns. Is the drag negligible? Has this been considered?

Besides vibration, another issue is that they angle with the wheels, but then so do bar-mount motorcycle mirrors.
Perfect spots for either cameras and/or slightly convex mirrors nicely faired in. If excessive vibration, then active image stabilization.
There was once “chatter” to have some body cameras serve as security cameras like Tesla
So... I suppose if they are on good locations now this could be possible sooner or latter????
