hello everyone...i am an Aptera newbie...just put down my deposit the other day...was wondering about the $7500 federal tax credit...apparently, doesn't apply because it only has 3 wheels...suggestion...why not make the rear wheel similar to a "dually" truck with the 2 wheels in the rear being very close together...might add a little weight, but if it satisfies the fed for the $7500 tax credit...that's huge...just a thought.

thanks ya I guess I got that from ordering the cyber truck.
@David Elze $7500 still applies to most 4-wheelers.
The reduction to $7000 is ONLY after a manufacturer passes 200,000 sales, such as Tesla & GM, whose Bolt used up a lot of their quota.
@Dan. I don't know if this would help you, but we had some discussion on EV Tax Credits once before. https://www.aptera.us/forum/general-discussions/federal-tax-credit California is working on some new incentives at the state level from cars to e-bikes. Any new updates anyone?
https://www.aptera.us/forum/main/comment/60427651846128008aafc8a7 there can be a optional small wheel to tie to the car instead of forcing everyone to pay for a 4th wheel as standard, b/c such tax credit only applies to some places, other places have other laws.
Welcome aboard Dan. Here's the link to the feisty arguments over your question, already up in another thread. https://www.aptera.us/forum/aptera-design-discussion/add-a-tax-credit-4th-wheel If you get a chance, and care to, add your info onto the "What is your reservation number?" thread, under General Discussions. linked here. https://www.aptera.us/forum/general-discussions/what-is-your-reservation-number
When Chris/Steve have been asked about tax credits and rebates they say there aren't any currently but that they will strongly lobby to have autocycles like the Aptera be made eligible in the future.
then auto rules would apply and you would need bumpers which would be unhelpful in re aerodynamics.
I know that the old tax credit that ran out was $7,500. Congress passed a new one which is $7,000. I hope it will apply to the Aptera.
