As I've been noodling on this for a month, I will throw this out to the community to chew on. I assume this is a common discussion for others as they are picking their mix of vehicles in the age of electric. With various chargers, range/size concerns, sometimes an Aptera wouldn't be the correct vehicle for all family members.
My wife simply feels safer in a larger SUV/Crossover style vehicle. It isn't something I can argue with or change for her perception on, so this leaves me with trying to figure out what to supplement an Aptera with.
She'd been considering a Volvo XC60 hybrid due to some "range-anxiety" and trying to bridge her current state w/ her future state. However, I believe that IF (and I really hope this is a WHEN) the Aptera is released, then we can end any range-anxiety kind of questions. My car will be the hyper-miler, hers can be the larger in-city/short-trip vehicle.
The TBD-release on the Nissan Ariya seems like a good choice, but for some reason she honestly thinks the XC60 seems "feminine" and the Nissan seems "masculine". I have no words.
So there you have it. Any thoughts from others considering a SUV/Crossover pairing w/ their Aptera?
So she wants a "feminine" SUV/crossover? How about the Tesla Model-Y? Or maybe the Chevy Bolt EUV.
Volvo XC40 Recharge or the new C40 Recharge, (if you've got the coin). Also waiting to hear the pricing on the new Hyundai IONIQ 5 and the Nissan Ariya. There will also be an AWD version for the new VW ID4.
Honda Odyssey is the answer. I hated the idea of a minivan when we were shopping, but it is a good vehicle. Economical, very comfortable, not bad looking and has more useful space and seats than an SUV.
My wife is similar, she currently has a small ICE AWD, SUV Jeep that she is happy with. However I know that after I get the Aptera she will start wanting something newer. By then I hope there will be a small EV SUV available that she will like.
I do not need Google - my wife knows everything :)
AND regardless of what you say or do - you will NOT win this argument :)
