Their spec sheet claims 180 miles range with a 36 kWh battery. That's 5 miles per kWh, which is about 25% more efficient than a Tesla Model-3, but only half as efficient as the Aptera's claim.I think we all know that the real competition to Aptera is the rumored $25 EV from Tesla, depending on what range it has at that price point, and when it ships.
Bit Coin mining?? That is a feature we all need. If there is so little attention to detail to get the collateral material (Marketing) error free before publishing I dread to think what the same lack of attention to detail in engineering will produce in the vehicle.
In terms of electrics it's unique. It is kind of the first commercially available vehicle for something more typical of a Solar Racer. In fact that is a big part of the appeal for me personally. In terms of price for performance, it is hard to beat too with the AWD version.
The solar aspect really does have to be considered here, because it is something that does make it stand out.
It is a niche vehicle for sure, but a niche vehicle can be the basis for a successful company down the line. A roadster is often a really good first car to build in this space. The fact the pricing is pretty flexible based on the battery pack also helps.
I got a chuckle from the economy version's description of interior capacity - 2 people and 2 drink bottles!
One of their announcements touted that their high-end version will be the first vehicle ever to cryptomine bitcoin and other crypto currencies while parked!!
With that, I think I'll tiptoe off to bed to dream of all the nonsense I just read.
Where will you put a bag of groceries if you want to take it to the supermarket? Looks like it won't have the headroom of the Aptera. It definitely looks cool, but lacks the practicality and range. I don't think they even have a real prototype yet, so it will probably be a lot longer coming to market if at all.
Looks VERY cool, & not as excessively wide as Aptera, or as long, but I don't see how the 36kWh one could possibly have a total weight of only 370 pounds when JUST the battery of a 36kWh Aptera would weigh 360 pounds.
Even if it's a units typo supposed to be kilograms, that's still only 816 pounds. & the one with the BIGGER battery weighs even LESS (80kWh, 350Lb).
Maybe they're each missing a 1, (1,370 & 1,350 Lbs.)
The Ultimate version owes its top speed to an all-wheel-drive design peaking at 147 kW (197 hp) of power. It also sports a large 80 kWh battery rated for 300 miles (482 km) of range, compared to a smaller 36 kWh battery in the Deluxe model offering 180 miles (300 km) of range. The Deluxe model also has a lower 75 kW (100 hp) power rating, though it is not clear if it uses front or rear wheel drive.
I've moved this post to the Other EVs forum where it belongs. Some other posting exists here about this same car company.

I'm sure there's a Chinese Copy in the works somewhere?

I just read about a similar 3 wheel very aero and all electric. It's going to be made in Canada. 300 mile range. But not out until 2023 or so.
Has anyone heard of it?
