According to a recent video link sent by one of the many helpful forum members, the new plan is for Aptera to have seatbelt airbags. It would be nice if they let us know when changes like this are made, especially since it could alter people's desire to pre-order.
In 2017, Takata filed for bankruptcy. So if Takata was their only supplier...

From what I’ve seen in interviews, is most airbag suppliers will only deal with major manufacturers ( only Takata will deal with Aptera but with the whole recall issues) they are leaning towards the seatbelt airbags.
I would think so, which is fine. I suppose only show stoppers could cause big changes...
e.g. safety testing and based on the outcome of all the global homologation assessments . Right?
IMHO Until the development vehicles plus safety crash testing is done.... Nothing is absolute but ...they have made the first Dev vehicle very close to the renderings so I 🤞 not too many surprises
