Hello all. This is an article which goes over the history of not only the Electric Vehicles but the history of transportation over the past few hundred years. This may not be for everybody, but those who want to put the Aptera in its proper prospective can insert it here. Hopefully when this is updated a hundred years from now, Aptera will be a key name in transportation history. This is an edited extract from A Brief History of Motion: From the wheel to the car to what comes next.

Ya, great article!
- So in the 1890s Americans were dying from visible odorous transportation pollution (rapidly-degrading organic horse crap & dead horses).
& in 2021 more & more Americans are dying from invisible odorless transportation pollution (century-lasting planet-overheating CO2, but also particulate matter & other pollutants).
- The author apparently missed last year's terminology update: It's not the somewhat-positive-sounding "climate change". Change is good, right? No, it's "global overheating".
- "fuel-economy standards ... 27.5 by 1985."! (Unfortunately, the 2021 US average is still only about 25mpg.)
About 2/3 through the article I double-checked its publish date, because:
- Rare earth substitutes are already in the pipeline,
- Seawater-sourced lithium is now cost-effective,
- There are current production cars with fully cobalt-free batteries. (super-safe, long-lasting Lithium Iron Phosphate - LiFePO4).
Great article OD!! I believe Aptera is a game changer that will dramatically impact transportation. the solar charging, the composite body, ateodynamic shape and handmade manufacturing processes it will go down in history as the vehicle that changed the EV world...
Fascinating article! Sounds like large cities were disgusting as late as the early 20th century. In 100 years I envision Tesla Robotaxi and VTOLs. Maybe Apterra as well!
