I sincerely doubt that Aptera plans to open a Company Store in Texas anytime soon. If I were in Texas, I would take delivery in California and drive it home! I'm considering that for Oregon, even though it's a longer ride. Why not get in a road trip right off the bat?
@Ken Potter We had this discussion in another thread: Some recalled hearing/reading that the price included delivery. I kinda like the idea of travelling to SD and driving home - but there's also that 5 day/1000 mile no-questions-asked return policy...
For me it's an 1800 mile drive - and 1000 miles would put me in western Texas - Odessa, to be exact - if I were driving home from SD. It might make sense to spend a week in CA, driving no more than 500 miles from the factory, to see if one is Aptera-compatible!
@Kerbe #12705 But then it truly isn't "capitalism". And if it is the firms that are being protected are being protected by the government after the government gave them free rein, what is a collusion of government with industry called?
With all the shouting about "Free Market Economy" it all comes back around to protectionism and paid politicians. Automotive dealerships are some of the largest contributors to political campaigns...
No country has ever had a free market, i.e., capitalist economy, on principle, but in the USA much lip service was paid to it so every intervention that distorted the market could be blamed on capitalism, i.e., the free market. Govt. has intervened from the start, the first most infamous being The Whiskey Tax Act which was unconstitutional but enforced creating the Whiskey Rebellion and hundreds of deaths/imprisonments.
Auto Dealerships add (on average) TRIPLE the cost, with Zero benefit. This economic system is called fascism, i.e., govt. conspiring with business. The opposite is NOT zero private business, it's zero govt. regs/taxes.

My impression is that Texas residents don't need to worry about the Texas restriction issue in purchasing their Aptera. Any expert opinions on that?
