I think what terrifies EV companies are the thoughts of someone shorting out the high voltage system and causing injury or death. I think even Aptera has this concern. With proper engineering I think it could be made 98% safe even for the masses. I would welcome some common sense legislation that allows consumers to participate in the maintenance of their vehicle but I think it also needs to absolve the manufacturers of liability if an owner does something less than prudent.
