Looking at some videos, we can see that because of the slope of the back window, it won't be possible to store the shopping bags near the back of the cargo area.
They will have to be pushed toward the middle of the car.
I am then wondering of the practicality of this when doing shopping.
It might be good to have some kind of plate sliding out of the car, where you could put your bags and that you could retract back in the car. Like a drawer.
Sounds like it would make a great aftermarket accessory.
As I wrote, the problem is the height of the trunk at the back of the car. In a video, we can see the lady pushing the bags to the middle of the car as the standard grocery bag is too high.
I have a Ioniq, so I know what is a hatchback.
By the way, I don't have kids and I don't have a truck. Only a few farmers have trucks where I live. Most people drive hatchback or small SUV (mostly a higher than usual hatchback) here.
I will sell my Ioniq and the Aptera will be the only car I own.
Just fine with it a is. There is enough room for a lot grocery bags. Remember, it is a two seater. If you have a big family and buy a LOT of groceries at a time, use your "Family" sized vehicle and take your kids with you.
This is one of those (many) cases where actually seeing one would go a long ways to answering questions. We'll get there soon enough.
I agree though, some sort of shuttle to ease access to stuff in the front of the cargo area would be very helpful. I assume this is a great opportunity for some sort of after-market add-on. 2 rails with some sort of lock in place slide plate, perhaps with raised sides to keep things in/on the plate. Interesting idea....
The first three Dev vehicles, from the Alpha group, (Noir, Sol and Luna) appear to have the shallow cargo area you speak of. But in a video they showed a lowering of the cargo area. So the beta vehicle could show us? But this is still a hatchback ( coupe ) because of its aerodynamic shape
