I will be leaving the Aptera Forum to avoid a potential conflict of interest. I have accepted an offer be evolving Engineering, and management process based on Lean Enterprise and Six Sigma methodologies. I have served in this capacity before as a consultant developing their World Wide Warranty System integrated with engineering design.
I have worked with and for Mary Barra before and enthusiastically support the direction she is taking the company and the directions to the EV unit.
I m keeping my Aptera reservation and hope it will be honored in its sequential order.
I have so much enjoyed participating in this forum with all of the Aptera enthusiasts and supporters of the Aptera Approach.
I have great admiration and respect for the Aptera Management team and engineers for what they have accomplished and their singular focus on the Aptera vision and drive bring it to production.
I saw a pic of Tesla employee parking, & there were VERY few Teslas.
I'm in Detroit and have a lot of family/friends in the traditional auto industry. All the companies are looking at any and all data about other companies endeavors. You can peruse this forum at your desk at GM and it would not be an issue. And, looking out the window at the parking at the GM world headquarters would reveal a lot of non-GM vehicles in employee parking. All the best on your new job but I don't think you needed to post re: COI as the reason.
All the best to you, though I don't see how it would be a conflict of interest to the forum, though I can see how a mega corporation may feel threatened by involvement in the agility of first-principles innovation and may also consider it to be a matter of brand disloyalty which they might view as supporting their nemesis and future demise. Hopefully you will not need to drive your Aptera in stealth or be frowned upon for doing so by corporatist overlords. Like, imagine if Elon drove a Lexus, what a scandal that would be. 😂 I once worked for an extremely large corporation and felt that I lost some of my freedom of choice and expression. I also felt that my innovation was stifled and truncated. Hopefully this won;t be the case. It would be great if you would remain in our forum, if at least pseudonymously, to add the diversity of your perspective, from a 7-Sigma-Heavy vantage point to act as a counter-balance so that Aptera may validate the heading of its First Principles approach against the baseline of the more complex and maturated process-based manufacturing methodologies. We promise not to perform psycho-linguistic analysis to determine your true W3S identity. You're always welcome here even if in your new digs they might not welcome you here. Take care & all the best! 😄
All the best!
Best of luck to you in your new career opportunity!
Just become a Lurker or use a pseudonym.
Good luck with the new endeavors. I have enjoyed my interactions with you on this forum's discussions. I now see how your background had influenced your logical inputs. I understand Daniel's comments and wonder why as an Aptera buyer it would set up a "conflict of interest". This forum has almost no direct interaction with the company. But only you know the situation so I respect that. Again good luck.
I don't see how browsing and posting on this public forum about your curiosity of this EV and its technologies would in any way jeopardize your opportunity at General Motors.
How would it be a conflict of interest, you don't work for Aptera, even if you are a brand ambassador that is just a 'super volunteer', not a position at Aptera.
