What better place to expand than the state that put the nation on wheels?
Several advantages to be seen, listed in order as I see them:
Know how: We've been designing and building automobiles around here for well over 100 years. Nowhere else will you find a greater concentration of skilled automotive people, from engineers to skilled trades to manufacturing techs second to none.
Tech sector. We're not Silicon Valley by any means, yet Michigan boasts a fairly robust tech sector, and not just in automotive. https://www.niche.com/places-to-work/search/technology/s/michigan/
Distribution. What a fantastic gateway to the lucrative East Coat markets! Michigan is served by truck, rail ,and ship AND Michigan provides an great export point for all those Canadian markets; we have three border crossing w/ Detroit being one of the busiest commercial international crossings in the nation.
Suppliers. Again...we've been building autos around here for over 100 years, and have a fantastic supply chain at the ready.
So when that time comes...and I'm quite certain it will....think Michigan for the first Aptera manufacturing expansion outside of Cali ! ! !
I'm not from Michigan, but you make some good points.
Sounds like a generic Chamber of Commerce ad.
