This would be way cheaper to buy and operate on a large scale than any other vehicle Tesla is planning to make. They can start their own autonomous taxiservice or sell them to Tesla's/other customers' fleet. Cost savings will eventually mean cheaper rides for the users.

I sure don’t see any reason to take this nice simple, reasonably priced, easy to work on vehicle into a place with bunches of sensors, actuators, servos and computers making it complex, more costly and hard to work on. Do people realize that cars with all these sensors and cameras for FSD and similar systems are more expensive to insure than similar vehicles without all that stuff. Well it is, because when damage occurs, the parts are way more expensive and to set up and calibrate all the sensors is very time consuming. The level 2 assistance that Aptera offers should be plenty, in fact more than I want, but at least this level would not add too much to the complexity and cost to the system. Go to the next level and I won’t want the car. If you don’t want to drive, you shouldn’t by a car, you should use some form of public transportation. If Tesla didn’t have all the sensors, servos, actuators, computers and cameras in there cars with or without FSD, there cars would be a lot cheaper and more accessible to the general public, which is what we should be aiming for.
