Are you going to use Android Automotive? That's clearly the best in class information system and better than having to tether a phone to use Android Auto. Android Automotive will give you true Google Maps. The weak point in Tesla's is their home grown navigation, it lacks options instead forcing you to use highways which I hate. Google Maps on Android Auto not only gave you the option of avoiding highways it also would give you the choice of three routes so that you could pick the one you want, I miss that in my Model 3.

We have been told that Aptera is developing an operating system in-house: They will not be using Android Automotive.
Lots of Google hate here, but not from me. I have used Google Maps all around the world when traveling on business. It works everywhere I go. Netherlands, Iceland, Korea, Japan, UK, Ireland, France, Belarus, Mexico, Canada and everywhere here in the states, including AK and HI. I have found it to be reliable and the Waze features are very helpful at times. I'm OK not having Google Auto initially, but having it and Apple Play arrive within 18 months is essential.
That would be a deal breaker if Android Automotive was used, I prefer not to have the car crash because of the vulnerabilities associated with Android and Java.
I hope that it won't have this crap of Android Automotive.
I don't have Google software on my degoogled Android. It is not to have it in my car.
Also Google map is crap and there is a lot of voluntary errors in the map to be able to detect the unlicensed use of Google map data.
It is much better to have a car with mapping data from Openstreetmap (OSMAnd on Android or A better route planner)).
Also, Google is very slow to add new streets. My street is 7 years old and is still not mapped in Google map even if I have notified them about this. And I know a lot of roads in my neighborhood which are mapped on Google map but have never existed.
An app on my phone can already read my BEV's current remaining range. By the time an Aptera is available, someone (Google?) should be able to combine that with Google Maps.
They've stated that the vehicle will not have Android Auto or Apple Carplay. As it stands with navigation apps at the moment, you kind of need a custom solution that integrates tightly with the car. This is so that it can figure out if you have enough range left over to make the planned charging point.
