1)needing to care for camera blockage is actually not a inconvenience vs normal cars b/c you would have to clear ice/snow off the rearview mirror anyway, in fact the camera/sensors can be easier to clean b/c u dont have to be as careful structurally fragile normal mirrors, plus surface area of camera is less than mirror per amount of image displayed.
2)more accurate view of other objects distance from car with visual assistance (the lines that show how close is too close ex. when backing up toward a building when parking, it shows if yout getting too close to the wall) this makes it easier to use, so it will sucesfully prevent more accidents.
3) its more durable if its built into the chassis rather than a small peice sticking out. more durbale means its less prone to not working b/c damage.
4) Mirrors reflect the glaring sunlight and misaligned headlights of cars(happens oftenhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OIow5YgdRro) behind user into his eyes, camera system can lower brightness of the glare to prevent blinding
5) camera is good for allowing more structural rigidity assuming non transparent body structure is better for efficient crash safety than polycarbonate window windshield or whatever.
6)lowers cost of windshield wiper system, in terms of aerodynamics too, adding to the improvement over normal mirrors.
