Safety:
Many new cars are offering the safety protection of REAR CROSS TRAFFIC ALERT. Here in the land of large pickup trucks it is a desired function when backing out of angle-parking or nose-in parking. It would seem that cameras in the sides of the rear deck in the taillight cluster could use the lower part of the cabin display to reveal any approaching vehicles when in a backing out mode. The wiring harness is already there for the taillights.
Parking:
I know that the wheel pod housings are readily replaceable when damaged. However, I would prefer to avoid damaging them in the first place. Consider placing a camera in the bottom of the stalk for the passenger and driver blind spot cameras which looks down and shows the relationship of the wheel pods to the curb when in a parking mode. I would find the addition of that feature (even as an extra) preferable to the cost of replacement covers. Also, it would avoid conflict with other drivers of the car.
camera to see wheels is unnecessary with this thing that serves other purpose too: https://www.aptera.us/forum/main/comment/60a5c5f27e882b001500a9bc
the Rear Cross Traffic Alert thing can exist as those radar type peices instead of camera if thats cheaper, althouh even cheap very bad graphics camera is more helpful in case there is some box or something triggering the radar to indicate theres something (which is supposed to be a car or person/animal) in the way. the red boxes next to colored car indicate a senario where a big truck/"SUV" is blocking view of colored car, assuming colored car is low ride height. behind the colored car shows the view of the radar/cheap cameras, they make up for not being able to see teh car thats coming into the way of the colored car, and that cars driver presumably isnt paying attention to where hes going b/c hes on his phone with cruis control on or whatever.
