I would love to have the high beam switch on the floor, operated with the left foot. This is how cares used to have the high beam switch up until the late '70's and '80's. It alleviates a task on the steering wheel and gives it to the left foot, which has no job in electric vehicles.

That would require an additional switch, wiring harness and floor modifications. And... most drivers wouldn't know WTF it is or how to use it.
Left foot braking is not good in a regen EV. It causes an alarm in a Tesla Model Y.
With the Regenerative braking maybe you will be one of those one pedal drivers!
My left foot operates the brake pedal. Well, when it's needed so... yeah, not a lot.
I grew up with that too!
Good to list thing but whatever they designed will go forward for now I believe....I doubt they will change much now.
In general I have found they are very sensitive to added weight, change to aerodynamics or power consumption...
My auto high beam is very accurate on my Ridgeline but there is always a time when you have to deactivate
